Guide My Kid is operated by Hackingtons Corp.. By using it, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.
Who can use it
Guide My Kid is for parents and guardians of kids aged 11 to 18, and for those kids with a parent's permission. If you start a guide for a child, you confirm that you're their parent or guardian. Kids under 13 may use it only with a parent's permission.
What it is
Guide My Kid is a free educational starting point. It offers general ideas about interests, college majors, careers and things to try.
It is not professional, academic, career, medical, psychological or legal advice. It isn't a diagnostic tool. It can't predict income, college admission, success or who your kid will become. The shortened questions have not been separately validated. You're responsible for decisions you make, and for supervising any activity you choose to try, including its safety.
Majors, colleges and careers
Guide My Kid is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the University of California. Majors change, and we can't promise that information is complete or current. Check with each college. Links to other sites are provided for convenience, and we don't control them.
Using the site properly
Please don't misuse the site, interfere with it, send emails to people who didn't ask for them, enter someone else's information without permission, or try to access another family's guide. We may limit or stop access to protect the site or its users.
Your guide link
Anyone with your guide link can open it. Keep it private. We may not be able to recover a lost link.
Our content
The site and its content belong to Hackingtons Corp. or its licensors, and may be used for personal, non-commercial purposes. This includes information from the O*NET Career Exploration Tools, used under license, as described on How this works.
No warranty
Guide My Kid is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise it will always be available, accurate or error-free.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Hackingtons Corp. and its people won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any decision made using Guide My Kid. Because the service is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by California law, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
Changes
We may update these terms by posting a new version here. Using the site after that means you accept them. We may change or end the service at any time.
